The weather has really thrown my allergies for a loop. What happened to the wonderful 68 degree weather we had this past weekend? It is not getting cold again and the weather man seems to think it will continue to be cold through the rest of the month of March. Boo!
Well on this cold approaching weekend and my allergies giving me a whirl I decided to make a comfort food last night to help me get through! My mom shared this recipe with me growing up and I just love it. It is perfect when you are sick of chili during the cold season and want something different.
Asoba
2+ lbs of hamburger (or to your liking)
1 decent size head of cabbage
Saucer's Pork Rub Seasoning
4-8 packages of Roman Noodles (depends on how much hamburger you cook so judge it by that :))
In a big pot, add the cabbage (I like to chop mine up a little) and seasoning (to your liking again, you can't hurt this recipe!) and cook down the cabbage. Cook the hamburger and drain. Add the drained hamburger to your cabbage pot when cabbage has cooked down almost completely (again.. to your liking). Let cook together for a few minutes before adding your Roman Noodles. (DO NOT USE THE SEASONING PACKETS IN THE ROMAN NOODLES...) Add the Roman Noodles and let them cook until done. Then enjoy this awesome comfort food!
This recipe, like I said in the recipe is hard to mess up. It is all to your liking pretty much.
So, the Roman Noodles use to make a Pork version of their noodles, but they no longer do so that is how I found the Saucer's Pork Rub seasoning for replacement.. same idea so far that I can tell. :)
Anyways,
I had to share a good comfort food on this cold approaching weekend. Brooks and I have plenty of it left over to get us through. :)
Enjoy!
Until next time,
Mrs. Griffin
