A Comfort Food that is a MUST TRY!

Hello everyone on this little Friday!

The weather has really thrown my allergies for a loop. What happened to the wonderful 68 degree weather we had this past weekend? It is not getting cold again and the weather man seems to think it will continue to be cold  through the rest of the month of March. Boo!

Well on this cold approaching weekend and my allergies giving me a whirl I decided to make a comfort food last night to help me get through! My mom shared this recipe with me growing up and I just love it. It is perfect when you are sick of chili during the cold season and want something different.

Asoba

2+ lbs of hamburger (or to your liking)
1 decent size head of cabbage
Saucer's Pork Rub Seasoning
4-8 packages of Roman Noodles (depends on how much hamburger you cook so judge it by that :))

In a big pot, add the cabbage (I like to chop mine up a little) and seasoning (to your liking again, you can't hurt this recipe!) and cook down the cabbage. Cook the hamburger and drain. Add the drained hamburger to your cabbage pot when cabbage has cooked down almost completely (again.. to your liking). Let cook together for a few minutes before adding your Roman Noodles. (DO NOT USE THE SEASONING PACKETS IN THE ROMAN NOODLES...) Add the Roman Noodles and let them cook until done. Then enjoy this awesome comfort food!

This recipe, like I said in the recipe is hard to mess up. It is all to your liking pretty much.

So, the Roman Noodles use to make a Pork version of their noodles, but they no longer do so that is how I found the Saucer's Pork Rub seasoning for replacement.. same idea so far that I can tell. :)

Anyways,
I had to share a good comfort food on this cold approaching weekend. Brooks and I have plenty of it left over to get us through. :)

Enjoy!
Until next time,

Fine details, final decisions...

Hello world!

Been a few days as always but between being a full time employee of my dad's and a full time house wife at home for my husband.. life gets a little busy!

I did some house things these weekend and ordered the cabinet hardware! I am so stoked about the choice of knobs and pulls. They will look awesome with my soft grey color. Check them out...

It is going to go really great together! Super excited to see them all back together. What a long process this cabinet painting was.. but so worth the perfectionists time that completed them for us!

Also.. I have a winner on the door color selection..... DRUM ROLL ................

BONFIRE RED!
I also this weekend, picked out of the front door knob and dead bolt.. check out my selection to go with the red:

It is going to look great, right!?

Can't wait to share finished pictures of everything. Slowly but surely, it is happening..

Remodeling with a single contractor by himself.. takes a long time but this time has been great to help us have our time to do a little here and there and pick things out as we go and not feel so rushed. I mean we are anxious to get in the new house but hey, we live right beside it so that is a plus!

Chow for now!
mOrgannnnnn

PS: I have to share this fabulous steal that I found last night at Wal-mart.. yes, Wal-mart! Is it not adorable? I love roosters.. and they are suppose to be good luck! This is on my oven for now and it will look great with grey .. (this thought is always in the back of my head! :))

Ready, set, go!

Hi everyone!!!

I was pretty slack last week and I did not get a post in but I did get a lot done with the new house. We had to pick out vanities for the bathrooms, pick out flooring for the bathrooms and laundry room and even pick out our front door color! :) Check out all the decisions..

Spare Bathroom Vanity...
(Home Depot Product)
Master bathroom vanity...
(Home Depot Product)

Vinyl tile color for bathrooms and laundry room (Home Depot Product)
.. (this is still pending depending on Lowe's in our hometown..)

...and last... but not least.. FRONT DOOR COLOR.. Stem Green or Bonfire Red!?

As of right now, although the voting is still open, friends and family have in the lead.. Bonfire Red! :)

Let me know what you think! I love both!

Happy reading and happy Monday!!

Picking up the pace and finishing up details!

Hey!

As you all know we are in the middle of remodeling a home on Brooks' family farm. This week was a big week for the house. The cabinets are finishing up being painted. (Pics below of them in the priming process) I can not wait to finally see them put all back together and complete.

This week we also ordered the counter tops. They will be out next week to make a template for cutting. They will not be installed until the last week in March because they are so far out. They should not hold us up too much. Pluming has plenty more they can do!

Saturday I will be going to House of Lights to pick out all of our lights! Pretty excited about this. (Brooks will be working so I will leave him out of this one..lights are so hard! He only had one request and that was Hunter Ceiling fan and I totally agree!)

Sunday, Brooks and I both are going to Lowe's or Home Depot, to look at vanities and flooring for the bathrooms/laundry room/pantry. This should be the last bit of detail we have to do! Wow!

They plan to start re-screening our screened in porch as soon as the cabinets are finished being painted and that will be great for the floor man to come in and get started on the sanding. We are keeping ALL of the original hardwood floors .. just sanding and re-staining! :) That was one of the two simple request, I wanted to keep that natural old feeling of the home, something to remember and have from the original. My second request was keeping the tung n groove ceiling's that were in a couple of the rooms. We sheet rocked some but kept the best looking two which happened to be in the living room and dining room so it worked perfect!

More to come as it is completed.. not much longer! Brooks guesses May 1st and I guess the end of April! Either way.. it is coming SOON!!!!

Enjoy your weekend!
Thanks for reading!
