New floors to us, old floors to his family with so many memories and blessings!

As promised,

I will be sharing the before and after of the floors. Now keep in mind that these floors were added as the house was added on way back when so some are older than others and some are different wood than the others. They took the same stain a little bit different in some rooms and of course, they are old so they did not sand 100% spot free. There are some places that are better than others but those rather tough spots just give our new home, character. <3

I tell you, I met with the floor guys one afternoon as they were sanding away the old top coat and getting the floors ready for a nice finish. They wanted me to come out to view some sample staining before they got started. It took me a little while to decide what I wanted to do. This is one of those things where you have to visualize and decide what you want without seeing the finish product.

The first option they showed me was a medium dark but to me... it was dark! I knew it would cover the bad spots but with the kitchen being a little darker with the colors I had chose for the cabinets and countertops, I was kind of worried. They then showed me a natural color which just as it is it really just is a natural coat on top to keep the floors whatever color they sanded down too. Again, I was not satisfied. I sat there staring at the two colors and just could not choose. I knew the dark was too dark and the natural just was not what I wanted. The men then suggested mixing the two colors 50/50. Can you say, perfect!? It was an instant, yes! They suggested I look at it in the spare bedroom and our master bedroom because the floors were two different colors naturally. I will share the pictures below for you to understand what they were trying to show me.

Anyways, the floors turned out to be beautiful and and they really keep those special memories and meaning to the Boone family for Brooks and I and his family. We can not wait to add to these memories, our selves!

Looking forward to moving!! These kind of results make the wait so worth it!

Happy Tuesday!
Until tomorrow,

A month has gone.. new house has so much to share..

Well, hello everyone!

How did I let a month pass without blogging? I must say, it was worth the wait!! We have had so much going on with the finishing touches for the house so I can not wait to share them all. First, I will go way back.

I shared with you all the cabinets being painted and my ideas for the cabinet hardware... well it is all complete. The kitchen is a done deal lights and all. We have had the floors refinished, the countertops installed, the bathroom vanities and plumbing finished and even the fireplace is almost complete. Remember I went with the grey color cabinets and those around me were a little skeptical about my choice.. let me just say, it was a perfect choice and those skeptical ones are liking the cabinets! (or so they tell me they do, to make me feel good) What do y'all think? It will be gorgeous with my red stuff, right!? I can see that RED kitchen aid mixer right here on display..

Just wait until you see it with the floors done and lights installed!! I will share the floors tomorrow... Planning on going to get the appliances one night this week and then it will be 100% complete!

Thanks for reading,
