My favorite room but my least favorite chore!

Hiiiiiii!

Who loves doing laundry? Not this girl! The new house will have a nice little space to call our laundry room. It will be just wide enough for the side by side washer and dryer front loaders that we have so not much move around room but enough to get the job done! We had to put a split door on the room because a full door would not open all the way without hitting the wash machine. This is what the room door looks like..you can use your imagination for the small room its self..

I am one of those people who love to hang certain clothes up to dry but I hate those annoying drying racks that fall every time you walk past them or touch them. I have already started on Brooks with the laundry room plans. I want a cabinet to store items in and a tension rod to hang some clothes on when they are drying or for any other reason. I plan to put a counter on top of the washer and dryer for a good folding area. This is the plan..something very similar to one of these.. I am loving the color cabinets for maybe sometime in the future if we don't do it when we take on the laundry room project.

Above: Is very much the same amount of space we have in the room.

Above: Love the color! Again, same idea of space that we have to operate with.

Above: Again..just another look.

Above: The green cabinets = LOVE! Hmm.. Brooks?? ;)

We will see how it all turns out. Of course..future blog on the completion of the project, not just our ideas, to come in the near future!

Thanks for reading!
Happy Thursday!

PS: Hello from Finley! This is our new addition we have had for about 3 weeks. Her name came from Carter Finley Stadium, which is the football stadium of NCSU, where I graduated from. She is an 8 week old (tomorrow) Black Labrador Retriever. She is a ball of fun and already way too smart! :)

Kitchen face lift plans..

Hello!

How many people can not stand opening a cabinet and tupperware falling down on your head? I can not ... but it still happens as of LAST NIGHT! Our current little cozy home has little to no kitchen space and not to mention a pantry of any type does not exist. We have so many new wedding gifts/kitchen items that we would love to use and find a spot for but it is plain and simple, we just do not have space! Our new kitchen is filled with cabinets on every wall and not to mention we have a WALK-IN pantry! Yes, I said it..WALK-IN pantry. I can not wait to get to organizing our new kitchen and pantry. I have so many plans, so I hope Brooks is ready to help with the handy man parts! :) I will share with you the FACE LIFT our new kitchen has received. It is a lot different considering we changed the traffic pattern by moving an entry way and moved all the appliances around and don't forget we totally gutted from top to bottom..

You can see in these pictures the difference already! We had someone hand make our cabinets and they turned our beautiful. You also can see the pantry door. It is walk-in and pretty good size so I can not wait to share updates with moving in and organizing our pantry. You can not tell in the picture but the entry way I am taking the picture from (after picture) was actually a solid wall. To the right where the fridge will be going is the old entry way, which is now a solid wall. You can kind of tell in the before from the glare coming through..

This picture holds a lot of inspiration on our new kitchen. Are cabinets are being painted "Pewter" and this picture is about as close as I have been able to find, especially with our countertop choice. This is a good indication of what ours will look like color wise. We have painted our walls china white and I have a back splash plan eventually to add some spunk! Our floors will be sanded and re-stained but the stain choice is still up in the air.

Can't wait to show you the finished product as it comes along! Not much longer and the cabinets will be finished being painted and hopefully the countertops will be on their way to be installed!

Happy hump day!

Pinterest, a new house, a new husband and a new dog!

Hi,

My name is Morgan Griffin. I recently married the man of my dreams, Brooks and we are taking on a project that will be so worth the wait in the end.

We married in September of last year and started remodeling his great-grandparents house on their family farm. We live right next door to the project and have got to be a part of every step of the way. We are now finishing up the wall paint and kitchen cabinets and on our way to moving in after light fixtures are installed and other odds and ins. We are thrilled to be moving from our first home into our forever home.

I am beyond excited to move in and organize my life again; between living in a small little "mean time" home plus all the wonderful wedding gifts.. we are just slam packed in our little home right now.

I am a little to anxious for all of the Pinterest inspired projects I plan to start on when we are moved; poor Brooks better have a hammer ready! These projects will be blog worthy by all means!

Take a look at our progress and watch the final decisions, move-in and decorating, take place!

Happy Monday,
Mrs. Griffin
